Exciting projects are underway at the Mother County’s tourist hotspot, White Lake. Renovations are currently taking place at several popular spots at the lake, including The Venue at Grand Regal, Regal Resort, Goldston’s Sandwich Shop, Goldston’s Cottages, and Goldston’s Beach. In addition to the remodeling, the new Lake Church building is in the works.

According to The Grand Regal Facebook page, “The Grand Regal has been hard at work for several months behind the scenes to prepare a place everyone will love and enjoy! We realize the properties, Goldston’s Beach and Regal Resort, hold special memories for many families. Our entire staff holds similar fond memories of White Lake. It is our staff’s desire to maintain the family atmosphere we all hold dear to our heart.”

In addition to renovations, there is also a new addition coming soon. Since Dublin First Baptist Church (DFBC) started planting the roots in 2014, the LAKE Church has grown from a small gathering of summertime worshippers to a strong year-round church, active in Ministry and Missions. According to Pastor Cameron McGill, “the Lord blessed the LAKE Church with a 3-acre property (formerly Lasley’s Motel) in 2017.”

In 2018, DFBC and the Lake Church opened White Lake Christian Camp & Retreat Center on the newly acquired land. Once the Lake Church began to grow, the church planting phase for DFBC was complete, and the Lake Church plans for a new church home began to evolve.

Construction is now in full swing, and services are scheduled to begin along the waterfront on Easter Sunday, April 4, of this year.

When asked about the plans for the new home of LAKE Church, Pastor Cameron says, “The new LAKE Church building will be a multipurpose structure that will include a worship center, classrooms, kitchen, and offices. It will serve as a permanent home for the church as well as worship, gathering, & recreational space for the Camp, as well as the community as a whole.”

With Spring and “lake season” quickly approaching as winter comes to an end, these renovations and additions will be enjoyed by locals, as well as tourists. Growth and improvement are key elements to success, and it is a beautiful thing to see local businesses and organizations succeed.

Pastor Cameron McGill extends an invitation to readers and says, “The entire church family would like to extend an invitation to the community to join them live or on Facebook Live for the first service in our new ministry center – Sunday, April 4, 2021 at 8:32 AM – John 8:32 ‘And you shall know the truth & the truth shall set you free‘”

At this time the owners of The Venue at Grand Regal, Regal Resort, Goldston’s Sandwich Shop, Goldston’s Cottages, and Goldston’s Beach have not replied with a comment about the changes happening at their locations, but they have posted on their social media platforms.

The Grand Regal stated, “We are in the process of making necessary improvements, while doing our best to maintain the nostalgia of White Lake. Please know, our hope is for the private owned business, The Grand Regal, to continue offering public access to Goldston’s Beach. We want to continue to offer a place where families can come and enjoy this beautiful lake!”
