A house fire claimed the life of a Sampson County woman overnight Thursday. The fire ocurred at 641 Brown’s Church Road near Clinton.
The Sampson County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze and the name of the victim has not been released. Multiple fire departments were called to the scene to assist in extinguishing the blaze.
Authorities did say fighting the fire was made more difficult as the house was wood frame and covered in vinyl siding.
