The Bladen County Sheirff’s Office published an alert this afternoon. The alert stated, “If someone approaches your home claiming to be with the Bladen County Water Department asking for payment this is a scam.”
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed earlier today someone tried to scam a resident out of money using this tactic near Bladenboro.
The Sheriff’s Office announcement continued, “The Bladen County Water Department will not conduct field collections on late or non payment. If this happens please call the Sheriff’s Office or 911 immediately.”
In closing they said, “We are working to get more information for our citizens now”
