Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce – Candidate’s Forum has been relocated to Bladen Community College due to FEMA using the Cooperative Extension Building. The date is still October 18th from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
CANCELLATION OF CAROLINA CALEDONIAN FEST – The 2016 Carolina Caledonian Fest (CaledonianFest.com) , scheduled for October 28-30 at Lu Mil Vineyard in Dublin has been cancelled according to the event’s producer Allen McDavid of AKA Entertainment & Media. Says McDavid, “The far reaching devastation of Hurricane Matthew and its aftermath in Bladen County and surrounding counties led us to make the decision it was not wise to forward with the event this year. McDavid says, “We will be in discussion regarding rescheduling the festival for next year.”
Bladen Community College postpones seminars – Todd Lyden, Bladen Community College’s Director of its Small Business Center, concerning the postponement of two seminars previously announced. The two seminars this Saturday have been rescheduled until Saturday, November 12, are Business Side of Operating a Faith Based Business and Parliamentary Procedure Made Easy
Lisbon Relay for Life Breakfast – The Lisbon Relay for Life breakfast scheduled for Saturday, October 15, has been postponed due to the devastation of Hurricane Matthew. An announcement will be forthcoming with a new date.
Carvers Creek United Methodist Church reschedule Homecoming – Homecoming rescheduled at Carvers Creek United Methodist Church the new date for the homecoming will be Sunday, Oct 23rd immediately following the worship service.
