Judith Hyder MISSINGFirefighters, law enforcement officers and EMS crews will conduct a search Tuesday for a missing Garland woman. Crews will be staging at the Ammon Fire Department.

Bladen County Chief Deputy Larrry Guton said Judith Deavers Hyder, 53, of 201 Oliver Lane, near Garland, was reported missing on Wednesday, Dec. 9, by her roommate.  She was last seen on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. when she was reportedly leaving to travel to Broadway, according to Guyton.

She said Judith was at the house when she left (they were friends and Judith had been staying there),” said Guyton.

Her car was found abandoned a couple of miles from where she was staying approximately a week after she was reported missing. Ground searches have been done around the house she was staying at and around where the car was found, said Guyton.

“The search today will be an area where we have received information we need to look at,” said Guyton.

Hyder is described as 5 ft. 5 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with short dark hair.
