We’re excited to have the renowned Rev. Danielle Melvin Koonce deliver the Homecoming message. Rev. Danielle Melvin Koonce is a proud North Carolinian raised in Roseboro, N.C., in Sampson County. A former collegiate athlete at East Carolina University who holds multiple degrees from ECU, Rev. Koonce enjoys learning and sharing the information that she has learned. Prior to becoming a PhD graduate student at the University of Maryland, she taught English courses at several institutions, including East Carolina University, Pitt Community College, and William Peace University as well as Lakewood High School, where her love for teaching was ignited. Rev. Koonce accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior when she was six years old and considers it the most important decision she has ever made in life. She is a licensed preacher, ordained under the leadership of Bishop Rosie S. O’neal at Koinonia Christian Center Church, Greenville, NC. Knowing God personally, and helping others to know God personally is one of her greatest joys. Rev. Koonce enjoys traveling, reading, writing, and spending time with family and friends. She is married to Richard Koonce Jr., and together they are raising two wonderful boys, Richard III and Jimmy and one princess, Sarah.
