Bladen County Sheriff's DepartmentA missing Bladenboro was found dead near his home on Saturday. According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Tullen Adams, 69, of Bladenboro was reported missing by friends and family on Friday, July 27, at approximately 10:30 pm.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, one of the reporting persons said they had last talked to him about 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon and when they went to his house about 2 p.m. he was not home. The reporting party said his scooter was out near a shed and his vehicle was missing.

Family members searched the area and did not locate him before contacting law enforcement that night. Deputies searched the area near the residence but did not locate Adams. Mr. Adams was entered as missing and surrounding counties were notified to be on the lookout for Allen or his vehicle, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Saturday afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m., a vehicle was located in a pond behind the Adams residence. Law Enforcement was notified and when the vehicle was recovered, Mr. Adams was found inside, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Bladen County Coroner Hubert Kinlaw has asked for an autopsy that will be performed on Wednesday, August 1.

The cause of death is undetermined at this time.
