Spread the love

By Charlotte Smith

Bladen County Beautiful, Bladen County’s showcase magazine, presented the first Single Mingle in Elizabethtown this Valentine’s Day with the assistance of the sponsors. The sponsors Big Tom’s Subs ‘N More, Ray’s Furniture & Jewelry, BladenOnline.com, Cape Fear Heating & Cooling, Town of Elizabethtown along with one anonymous sponsor helped make sure singles in the area had some fun on the day of love.

There were about 30 in attendance at the party featuring Al Boogie, the DJ. Nine vendors including: Judith Brogden, from Elizabethtown R & R, Kendal Yates from New Attitudes, Rhonda Hall from White Water Graphics, Big Tom’s Subs ‘N More, and Ray Britt from Ray’s Furniture & Jewelry added to the fun. Burney’s Sweets & More, Judith Brogdon, Kendal Yates, Ray’s Furniture & Jewelry and Walmart of Elizabethtown gave free gifts to help with the festivities such as free food, jewelry, massages, nail services and gift cards.

Those in attendance danced, played games, ate and made merry. The most popular game seemed to be a game of “Love Connection”.

The game had Bladen County’s Bachelor, Rusty Kelly, hide behind a wall while four single females answered a few questions from the other side of the wall. In the end Kelly had to decide which Bachelorette he wanted to choose for a date night. Kelly went with the most popular, according to the audience. All participants in the game received a $10 gift card to Walmart. Kelly and his date won a $50.
