The atmosphere in the Elizabethtown Middle School Gym was one of excitement as teachers and staff gathered for the Bladen County Schools Convocation. Several new staff members were welcomed during the convocation.

Dr. Tanya Head, Assistant Bladen County Schools Superintendent, told those gathered the past year was a successful one.  “A new year should mean tow things First it is a new beginning. We stopped in June and we had a little break,” said Head. “It is a beginning because we stopped and we started again. It is also a continuation of where we left off last year because each year we want to grow and improve on our work.”

She said it takes everyone being involved to create and continue the successful work in the classrooms.

Also, the 2017 Bladen County Principal of the Year Deborah Guyton was introduced and the 2017 Bladen County Teacher of the Year Patsy Moffat also was introduced. Both encouraged teachers and staff to work hard and never get discouraged.

Bladen County Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Taylor addressed the group.
