1991 – Baseball World Series: Minnesota Twins beat Atlanta Braves 1-0 in 10 innings in Game 7 at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. It’s the Twins 2nd title since move to Minneapolis. MVP is Twins pitcher Jack Morris.

2011 – Major League Baseball World Series Game 6: St. Louis Cardinals third baseman David Freese hits game-tying 2 run triple with 2 outs in the 9th and then hits walk-off home in the 11th to tie the best-of-7 series against Texas at 3 wins apiece. St. Louis won Game 7 and the World Series.

2018 – Gunman shoots and kills 11 people and injures six at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in an anti-Semitic attack.

2019 – Tiger Woods scores a wire-to-wire 3-stroke win over Hideki Matsuyama at the inaugural ZoZo Championship at Accordia Golf & Country Club to tie Sam Snead’s record of 82 PGA victories.

2020 – World Health Organization confirms Europe is in the midst of a 2nd COVID-19 wave with cases rising rapidly, 30% in a week, deaths rising 40%.
