Thoughts While Shaving

January is always an interesting month of the year.  Cold, very cold, windy, mild, wet, dry and more cold.  Actually, I kinda like it.

Not bad when compared with other parts of the US, like California.  Fires and mudslides are constantly in the news.  Tornadoes in the Midwest, near zero temps in the upper tier of states, I love calling Bladen County, North Carolina, USA, home.

Speaking of rainfall, prior to whatever fell over night, at the Hester household we recorded a little less than 3/4s of an inch of rain in this new year.

Ever notice how we (Americans) defend any politician we like, regardless of the charge and attack those we disagree with.  Kinda weird, our good judgment and values seem to go out the window when we discuss politics and politicians.

Recently read a letter from a young lady, not expected to live through the year and her approach to life.  In short, live life to the fullest, deal with others honestly, spend time with family and friends, put aside whatever divides and face the world issues openly and honestly.

Thugs are on the move, apparently stealing anything they can sell or pawn to support their drug habits.

I recently mentioned plumbers, electricians, carpenters and others who do detail type work.  I appreciate them all.  I am not sure what my talent is, if there is one, but detail type work is not my thing.

ACC basketball fans, PGA fans, NFL fans, should be happy this weekend.  Lots of action.

I spent a summer working on a rabbit farm.  It was a hare raising experience.

When orders for acetone, benzene and methanol plummeted, the chemical plant became insolvent.

I lost my job at the quarry, I guess you could say I hit rock bottom.
