Thanks to NCDOT and their contractors for a speedy repair to the bridge (US701) over the Cape Fear River near Elizabethtown … I received a message early Sunday morning that workers had worked thru the night repairing the bridge and that it could be opened by 10 a.m. I was pleasantly surprised but skeptical … Lo and behold, I received an announcement that the bridge was open, about 10 a.m. Thanks to all … easy for us to criticize the government, but this time GREAT work … and THANKS … Made a special trip after church to see for myself … Traffic was flowing like nothing ever happened…

Too much rain in a short period of time, some water still standing, but all in all a net plus, I would think. About 4 inches of rain in a short time frame, erosion could become an issue … Hopefully, not too bad…
