Friday, a fundraiser to support Bladen Crisis, will be held at Trinity UMC from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu consist of BBQ with cole slaw, baked beans and hushpuppies. Tickets are $8 each. Several churches in the area are partnering to support this worthy cause. Some may not know what Bleden Crisis is/ does … They partner with the Bladen County Department of Social Services to provide support for many local residents … with 2 locations, one located next to the old Elizabethtown High School gym … One across the street from Farmers Market in downtown Elizabethtown … And there are other events mentioned recently on “Thoughts”…
McCrae Dowless, a name long associated with Bladen County and North Carolina elections, died Sunday. The announcement coming from his daughter, according to various news sources. He had suffered with an “advanced form of lung cancer”. He was 66 years old.
