Thoughts While ShavingI had a Doc visit recently in Wilmington … walked into an office building and met a neighbor, one that I admire, but seldom see, except at church … Nice visit…

Speaking of Wilmington and other growth areas in our state and nation … I prefer the wide open spaces in Bladen County … Recently I drove through some of the areas we fished as youngsters, with mom and dad … Some I may not go today…

Remember as a youngster playing in the woods … never concerned about crawly-creeping things…

Anyone else check the obit page daily?

We have a slight chance of showers today … High temp near 74 with a 20% chance of rain … Tonight, partly cloudy, with a low around 51 … Thursday, mostly sunny, with a high near 76 … Chance of rain increasing daily for a few days … best chance of rain is Friday (90%)…

Bladen We Care recently donated $25,000 to Southeastern Carolina Crossroads, the drug and alcohol rehab group located in Bladen Lakes State Forest … They do great work, attempting to restore those who were/are addicted to drugs and alcohol … They just quietly go on doing good work with limited resources … And if you decide to clean out your closet, have some good men’s wear that you no longer use, it will be used if donated … Should be clean, usable, and free … They will use the most recent $s donated to do needed repairs in places that need it, on site, by the folks there … Some come with all they need … others with all they have in a paper bag … Good folks who lost it all because of addiction … to drugs and alcohol. Donations of cash are always welcomed … You can drop it off at Bladen Baptist offices near CVS in Elizabethtown … or mail to Southeastern Carolina Crossroads, 1086 Susie Sandhill Road, Elizabethtown, NC.
