Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

I enjoy browsing thru Facebook, wishing happy birthdays, see those celebrating anniversaries and other special times in their lives … Sad when I see the death of a long time friend, or someone asking for prayer for themselves or one of their friends…

I listen to those more engaged in the political process than I am or will be … Each side expressing fear if the other candidate wins … We’ve traveled this road before … We are all Americans…

Will be interesting to see who is appointed to fill the unexpired term of the late Russell Priest on the Bladen County Board of Commissioners. Whoever is appointed could serve for a very short time. Voters in District 3 will have the final say about who will serve the final 2 years…

Understand a petition has been turned in to the Bladen County Board of Elections for a challenge to Rodney Hester in District 2 … Have not confirmed and no idea if Board of Elections have verified the names of those seeking to add a challenger in the November General Election. Hester (R) defeated incumbent Daniel Dowless (R) and had no opponent for the General Election … May have one soon…

Politics does make strange bedfellows, but some names keep popping up, time after time … despite charges of illegal activities over the years…

The General Election is just a little over 3 months away … Less than 90 days of campaign promises and attacks … before the final decision.

It’s Friday … another work day, then a couple of days off for most … time to cut the grass, or do other chores. Many, no doubt headed to the beach or the lake … maybe the mountains … Others prepared to just be lazy, do nothing…

Mostly sunny, with a high near 89 degrees, heat index values as high as 100. A 40% chance of thunderstorms, rainfall less than a tenth of an inch, higher amounts possible in thunderstorms … Typical summer time forecast…
