Thoughts While ShavingWeatherman was ‘spot on’ again yesterday … High was 97 and heat index topped out at 108 between 3:30 and 4 p.m., at the local weather reporting station at the Curt Brown Airport…

Showers and thunderstorms likely today, after 3 p.m. Patchy fog early, otherwise partly sunny, with a high near 92 … heat index as high as 101 and a 60% chance of rain…

More showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 6 p.m. this evening and tonight. Low around 72 and an 80% chance of precipitation.

Monday, more showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. and heat index values as high as 100 and a 70% chance of rain.

A pretty good chance of rain thru Thursday … with highs in the high 80s 1st part of the week, eventually dropping to the low to mid 80s range later in the week.

NFL results from yesterday’s action … Dallas defeated Las Vegas and Denver Broncos shut out LA Rams 41-0.

Today, Houston vs New Orleans – 8 p.m. in preseason action. Regular season action begins September 10.

Viktor Hovland leads the PGA Championship Tournament by a hefty 6 strokes with one round remaining. He has posted a minus 20 after 3 rounds … Xander Schauffle is 6 strokes back of the leader … followed by Colin Morikawa and Keegan Bradley at 13-under … 2 others are tied at minus 11. They are playing in Atlanta, Ga.

At Daytona Beach, Chris Butcher won the season finale … Bubba Wallace retains final playoff spot. A big crash took out several and Kurt Busch announced he is retiring from the sport after a long career.

Today is church day … visitors are welcomed at places of worship all across the county…

Activity at White Lake is still going strong … as well as Lu Mil and at several locations featuring ‘boiled peanuts’…

#2 son visited yesterday, came with a bag of groceries … both welcomed … visit and the food.
