North Brunswick 54 – West Bladen 14

Both teams 0-2 in nonconference play.

Sidewalk sale continues today in Elizabethtown. … The annual event draws huge crowds. … Weather should be perfect.

Speaking of the weather … Hurricane Dorian, a category 4 storm, appears to be heading toward Florida. … Could be trouble for our area a few days from now … stay tuned.

Nicolas Peavy, Bladenboro resident, is in Raleigh this weekend auditioning for American Idol. How cool is that? We join others, cheering him on.

White Lake is a great place to be this weekend. … Fun for all the family. Never know who you will see at Goldston’s Restaurant and the Sandwich Shop next door.

Labor Day … a public holiday to honor working people in the US and Canada.

Kicking back is that much sweeter when you’ve earned it.
