Thoughts While ShavingAnother Day, another dollar in the hole, remember the old tune?  Tex Williams wrote the lyrics in 1966.  It peaked at No. 44 on  September 24, 1966, nearly 52 years ago.

Did you know Stonewall Jackson was born in Tabor City, NC?  And no, Stonewall is not a nickname.  He was named after the Confederate General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson.  Stonewall, is 86 years of age and has sung and recorded Country and Honky Tonk tunes for years.  Wikipedia information indicates he was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame on October 11, 2012.  Same source has him currently living in Brentwood, Tennessee with his wife Juanita.  In 2008 he settled a lawsuit with the Grand Ole Opry after was told he was “too old and too country” to perform.  The lawsuit was settled in the same year for an undisclosed amount and he returned to performing on the show, where he has been a member of the Opry family since 1956.

William McGirt, Fairmont, NC golfer shot a 63 yesterday, to assure his place in the upcoming PGA playoffs.  He won over $122,000 pushing his earnings for the current year to over $900,000.  He currently lives in Boiling Springs, SC.
