Thoughts While ShavingMost of the more serious issues were solved yesterday when my longtime friend and I spent some time observing and passing judgement on many local issues as we toured Bladen and Columbus counties … Most enjoyable and very educational.

Consensus … North Carolina is spending a ‘ton’ of money on roads and bridges … in our area … probably statewide … and much needed…

Overnight, with 99% of the Georgia U.S. Senate contest reported … Warnock (D) 51.4% (1,817,465), Walker (R) 48.6% (1,719,868). Among other things, a battle for U.S. political braggin’ rights … D’s 51, R’s 49 in US Senate.

Congratulations to Rodney Hester, chairman of Bladen County Commissioners … Yes we are … He is my nephew … He has not asked for and I have not offered advice in his new position … He is smarter than that…

Prayers continued for Bladen’s Best Sportswriter … ever. John Clark … had a health issue that caused concern over the past weekend … Prayers for him and his family … Last report … home and improving…

I appreciate your comments about my ‘Thoughts’. Received several compliments over the past week or so … latest yesterday … Thanks…

Patchy fog before 10 a.m. today. Otherwise, mostly cloudy with a high near 75 and calm wind … up to 5 miles per hour … Mostly cloudy tonight, low near 58. Thursday, partly sunny, with a high near 70 and a northeast breeze in the 3 to 7 mph range…
