Big parade thru downtown Bladenboro on Saturday, and you are invited to enjoy BBQ immediately afterward. The Trooper Kevin Conner fundraiser will be held at the Bladenboro Fire Department. Plates will be $7 each and proceeds will benefit a scholarship fund set up to assist high school seniors in Bladen and Columbus counties. Trooper Conner was a Bladenboro native and a member of the Bladenboro Fire Department for several years before becoming a trooper … he and his family moved to Columbus County. He was killed in the line of duty over a year ago.
