Thoughts While Shaving for February 17

Rain played havoc with the first NASCAR race of the 2020 season. After President and Mrs. Trump made an appearance, it began to rain and it was finally postponed until today. It will be restarted at 4 p.m. today, with pole-sitter Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. in the lead, in fact he had lead the entire race, prior to the rain.

Today is Washington’s Day, some states renamed it President’s Day. It was originally a day in honor of George Washington who was born on February 22, 1732. Since the Uniform Federal Holidays Act of 1971, observance can occur from February 15 to February 21 … usually the third Monday in February.

Scanning the Internet recently, discovered an article worth reading for parents of teens … “Teens Need to Know They Can Make Money in Trade Careers”. It is published in ‘Explore Parents publication’, all about trade school or vocational or technical education…

Early voting continues for another couple of weeks in Bladenboro, East Arcadia and at the Board of Elections’ office in Elizabethtown. Primary elections day is Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Deadline for one-stop voting is Saturday, February 29th.
