Today is President’s Day!
With April 15th fast approaching, begin to think about taxes. What kind of taxes do we pay? Federal income tax, state income tax, sales tax, capital gain taxes, corporate income taxes, fishing license tax, gasoline tax, property tax, road usage tax, federal excise tax, trailer registration tax, vehicle sales tax; and on and on. The list I found had nearly 100 different taxes and the list was incomplete, according to the author.
According to another article I read, about 27% of our total income goes for taxes, would be surprised if that is not on the low side.
President Reagan stated, “Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And, if it stops moving, subsidize it.”
Sorry, not a good way to begin a new week, just the facts.
