Thoughts While Shaving for January 22

Remember the song “Baby It’s Cold Outside?” Hummed that several times, yesterday … never thinking about what it was. … It was a cold day … high temp at the Curt Brown Airport (Elizabethtown, NC) weather station was 39 degrees … and the wind was ‘strong.’

Should be a little better today … Sunny, high in the upper 40s, windy with gusts up to 18 mph. Low tonight in the upper 20s. Thursday, partly sunny, high in the low 50s and wind 5 to 7 mph…

Bundle up, and enjoy…

Saw folks working outside … one group working on a new house in our neighborhood … thankful that was not my task. … Nothing between them and the wind but a few 2 X 4s…

As you would expect, January is the coldest month of the year, based on long time averages. Average high for Bladen County … 54 degrees, average low is 33 and average monthly rainfall is 4 inches. Looking ahead to February … the numbers are high 53, low 34 and 3.6 inches of rain.

Not sure if there are more ‘bad’ folks or the bad news travels faster. … Did you see where a law enforcement officer in a nearby town left his naked pre-teen age daughter in his vehicle while he visited a bar, for sometime. The child was wrapped in a blanket and discovered by folks in the area. The Lt. was suspended for a few days, but no charges. … Says a lot about his judgment. … I know, judge not that ye be not judged. … Would you do that??? Hopefully, not.

Good day to check on the elderly, the sick. … A warm home and some means of communications is a necessity … or should be…

Wonder how animals and other outdoor, living, breathing ‘things’ survive?

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. … Be honest and frank anyway.

Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds to be…
