Thoughts While Shaving

Thoughts While ShavingOur new Commander in Chief and Congressional Republicans met yesterday in Philadelphia as they begin to see what they have in common, determine their goals for the upcoming year.

Would love to be a ‘fly on the wall’.  More than likely, both have a list of goals and expectations.

There is a price tag attached to ongoing and new projects.  With that in mind, I checked the National Debt and discovered that it nearly doubled during the Obama administration.  When he arrived, the debt was $10,626,777,048,913.  When President Trump was sworn in, the total was $19,944,429,217,106, up about $9.3 trillion.

One writer pointed out it is unfair to say any one President added so much, because so much is for ongoing programs (problems) including a growing interest line-item.

Will be interesting to see how Republicans deal with the issue.  With majorities in the House, Senate and White House, will test their skills.  Not sure anyone can do much.  Like a run-a-way horse.  Over the years, many years, it continues to grow, out of control.

Not professing to be a great math student, I attempted to see how much you and I owe, each. Best I can tell we, it is $61,280,26 each and growing.

I found this national debt, doubled, wrapped in a big bow waiting for me as I stepped into the Oval office.  Barack Obama

Blessed are the young for they shall inherit the national debt.  Herbert Hoover

When George W. Bush entered office, the national debt was $5 trillion.  I think the administration spent too much money.   Ted Cruz
