Thoughts While ShavingAnd more rain came down … about 1.25 inches in less than an hour at the local airport. My bride and I were at White Lake and decided to take a chance … some experience … Not bad til we arrived at the Cape Fear River … then, what seemed like a solid sheet of water thru Elizabethtown to the bypass … and an hour later … sunshine … Welcome to Bladen County, NC, USA.

Today’s forecast … A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Tonight, mostly cloudy, gradually becoming mostly clear, low around 68.

Tuesday, sunny, with a high near 92. Next best chance of more rain is Friday, Saturday & Sunday … in the 30% to 40% range.

Good golfing weather for a few days…

Speaking of golfing … The winner of the John Deere Classic was Sepp Straka … fired a final round 62, despite dumping one in the lake on the last hole … Picking up just over $1.3 million.

LPGA winner was Allison Corpuz, a 3 stroke win…

NASCAR was racing near Atlanta … The event was shortened due to rain … Winner was William Byron … followed in order by:

All-Star Baseball festivities continue in Seattle, Washington. The All-Star game is Tuesday night (usually played on the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday in July) and marks the symbolic halfway point in the Major League Baseball season. The Hammond family of Clarkton is taking it all in … Macon Hammond is a 2-A minor league umpire, and is participating in some of the activities surrounding the game.
