Bladen County commissioners meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Superior Courtroom on the 2nd floor of the courthouse … Checking the agenda, mostly routine business session … including reports from several agencies, a financial update from the Finance Office … 2 or 3 appointments for various advisory boards, report from County Manager, Greg Martin. Due to COVID-19 physical distancing requirements are being enforced. Had a ‘Thoughts’ reader call recently talking about the ‘good old days’ … He shared about the movie theaters in Elizabethtown … Rowe and Clark … About live shows at the Clark … from time to time, ex. Lash Larue and Tex Ritter, according to him were among the named artists … The Clark had closed up shop before I arrived in the early 60s, but knew about the Rowe … Had the privilege of attempting to resurrect it, along with a couple of friends … ’bout lost my … you know what…

Boy Scouts are getting lots of bad publicity because of leaders, in other parts of the nation who have abused scouts … It has been a very good organization, and the local leaders over the years have done a great job … Many Eagle Scouts in this area … Bottom line … good organizations depending on volunteers have a difficult time monitoring all … SAD…

So, what’s your week like? Aging population have interesting time keeping up with Doc appointments and refilling prescriptions…
