I failed to adjust the temp prior to going to bed last night … woke up early … hot … hot … hot … Happy to rise early and re-adjust the thermostat…
No doubt, it’s summertime … We had a brief shower shortly after 7 p.m. last evening … apparently no rain at the local weather station … None noted…
Yesterday’s high was 95…
Today’s forecast … Mostly sunny with a high near 95, heat values as high as 100. Mostly clear tonight, low near 74 … Same type forecast thru next Wednesday … Highs in the upper 90s thru Saturday … then low 90s … for a few days…
I guess I am a dreamer … dream of a cooler day … think of those without air … and as I think back … think of folks that made an impact on my life … No doubt family … parents, siblings, cousins, neighbors, church friends, including pastors, who helped shape lives … I have several that come to mind…
How about teachers … school and church…
Several I was never overly impressed with … at the time … but wish I had been a little more ‘attentive’ … Example was Mr. I.C. Pait (Bladenboro) … ‘Mr. Ippie’ … I had a Civics class and was not a good student … very little interest, just dreaming of graduating one day. I wish I had paid more attention … would take the class again … As a young adult, I enjoyed politics … later involved in the political arena at the local level as an elected official and at the state level … as an employee … Interesting how he would become one of my favorites … I doubt he would feel the same, based on my lack of interest at that time…
Bladen County is the fourth largest in the state … land wise … population, a little less than 30,000 last official numbers I saw … Doubt it has changed much … But, some nice places to relax … no doubt the lakes … especially White and Jones Lake … but some neat places to visit … some where you can enjoy a meal and spend the night … some for rent … I bet I missed some … If yes, I am sorry … Allen Bros., near Bladenboro, Hickory Grove Church area … Lu Mil near Dublin … Cork room, near the airport … Those were the ones I recall … early on this day…
