Recent hail caused some damage to some local blueberries … varied from one location to another … Checked some of the tasty berries recently, and they were delicious…

More high speed internet access is coming to Bladen and other rural areas … and more is in the pipeline … State and federal officials are assisting with funding, offering matching grants … A couple of issues are slowing the progress … Lack of experienced companies to lay the fiber and some slowing of product. The NC Legislature and Governor do not always agree on many issues … both hopefully understand … building out a fiber network is much like building roads in the 40s, 50s and 60s … A necessity … and never more evident than during the pandemic … So many students and employees working from home … Star Communications workers and contractors are busy…

As expected, many are happy with updates at White Lake, some would rather see it as it was … based on comments on social media sites … Some of us like change, expect change and some of us do not … So, what’s new? Sometimes we are pulled fussing and fighting into the 2020s…

We need rain, and we have a promise … Mostly cloudy today, high near 80 … Chance of rain is 70% … Thunderstorms possible … Unsettled weather for the next few days … Actually, 60 to 80% chance of rain daily thru Saturday, then 30% chance for several days … Hopefully, we will have rain soon … The sooner the better…

We are better off, as a whole, than we were last year, but still a ways to go to return where it was and where we want to be … best I can tell…
