Thoughts While ShavingAnother Sunday has arrived … CHURCH DAY…

A small lady with a long shadow was laid to rest yesterday … Jane Ross, longtime member of the staff at the local Extension Agent’s office … She touched many lives in her 89 plus years…

Weather forecast for today, partly sunny, then gradually sunny, with a high near 54 … and a north wind around 7 mph. Partly cloudy tonight, low around 31. Monday, sunny, with a high near 58. Temps gradually rise to the low to mid 80s Thursday and Friday … Oh yes, 2/10s of an inch of rain over the past 36 to 48 hours…

NCAA basketball playoffs continue … North Carolina-based schools have departed the scene … Tennessee defeated Duke Saturday 65-52. Hickory native Rick Barnes is the Tennessee coach … and a good one…

Action continues today in the NCAA and NIT … Who would have thought only two ACC teams would be playing at this early stage of this year’s tournaments? … Miami and Pittsburgh are the lone ACC teams still playing … Duke, NC State, Clemson, Virginia and Virginia Tech have been eliminated … Ah, heck, there is always next year…

PGA, softball, baseball, NASCAR and more to occupy our sports minds ’till fall…

Kinda get excited when I think it is nearly lake season … and Bladen has many lakes … White Lake, Jones Lake and more…

Reminder, Bladen County Commissioners meet Monday, 6:30 p.m. at the courthouse … ‘Bout this time of year, the budget process for the coming fiscal year moves to the top of ‘must do’ list. State law requires a new budget completed and adopted prior to July 1 … Still plenty of time…

“Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what you have.”

“People generally see what they look for, and hear what they listen for.”

“There is no force more powerful than that of an unbridled imagination.”
