Eddie Madden, longtime Elizabethtown Town Manager, has departed the local scene, begins his new position in Whiteville as Columbus County Manager Monday. He left his mark locally … He came with a plan, delivered and many would say Elizabethtown is a better place to live work and play … Neatest small town around. He will be missed. He knew when to push and when to pull. Wish him the best in his new position. I first met Eddie when he was a county commissioner in Jackson County … County seat is Sylva…

Hopefully, North Carolina is taking the next step in the recovery from COVID-19 … We all must use some common sense … The last thing needed it to have a relapse … Never seen anything bring the US to its knees like what we have experienced over the past 12 months … Hope it never happens again … We can do it … if all play by the rules…
