Remember the Jaycees, Lions, Ruritan Club, still hear about Rotary and Kiwanis … and there were others … seems most have disappeared. … Jaycees were my favorite. … It was for the younger, mostly males … later included females, who were interested in involvement of civic activities at the local level, you aged out in your mid 30s. … I still remember the creed, all clubs apparently had one…

Last report I saw, there were about 30,000 Jaycees nationwide, none, that I am aware of in this area and losing membership annually, as are others.
I do believe, over the years, civic groups, groomed many for future political office…
Bladen County’s own Larrell Murchison reportedly signed a huge contract recently to continue his football career with the Tennessee Titans. We wish him well … Hard work for years is apparently paying off for the young man.
