Thoughts While Shaving for May 22

When all is said and done, don’t expect much to be done in DC for the next few months … except parties playing ‘gotcha’. … Senate Republicans want to question Hunter Biden (Joe’s son) before some committee, Democrats have questions for Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. … President threatens to withhold funds from states planning on ‘voting by mail’, and President’s former personal attorney released from prison to serve time at home, for fear of virus exposure (one of 2,932 inmates allowed to go home for confinement since late March). House Democrats pass another stimulus package … ruled ‘dead on arrival’ at the Senate door. … No idea what is right or wrong … must assume both parties think what they are doing will appeal to their ‘base’ in November.

In North Carolina, both parties looking out for us ‘average Joes’. … One party says open up everything, no matter what the virus stats indicate … the other says … no … no … no, not yet, not safe. Have idea both are playing to the “masses.” No doubt, some are serious…

So, what’s really changed. … Nothing … same old, same old. … Just more coverage … both sides claiming others are ‘biased’. … Many turning to Fox and CNN for just the facts. … My, My, My … Honestly … not much has changed over the years…

When in doubt … I turn to FactCheck … or some other supposedly non-political source … If there is such a source … No guarantees…

Elections still 6 months away. …. At this time, the winners appear to be those selling political advertising … mostly TV … and much to come as we near November elections…
