Thoughts While ShavingOnly three months remaining in 2016.

The usual first of the month meetings are set for this week, at least two today, Bladen County Commissioners, 6:30 p.m. at the courthouse and Elizabethtown City Council at 12 noon and 7 p.m.  All meetings are open to the public.

Should remain aware of the approaching Hurricane Mathew.  Winds reduced slightly overnight, now down to 130 mph, still a potent storm.  Weather officials are expecting the storm to reach our area this weekend.  Guiding forces for the storm still unclear.  Computer models are ‘all over the board’.  Most predict, based on what is known now, it will be off the coast of our state.

The past weekend was all a sports lover could hope for.  NFL, MLB, NASCAR, Ryder Cup Golf, NHL, and some NBA games.

Martin Truex is the hottest driver in NASCAR, posting his fourth win of the season, as the field for the finals was reduced from 16 to 12.

The Carolina Panthers are having a difficult time posting wins this year, after their recent trip to the Super Bowl.  Cam Newton took another ‘lick’ to the head and the Atlanta Falcons posted a win.

Temps continue to cool down.  Today is expected to be the warmest of the week, with highs in the 80s.  Highs should be in the 70s most of the remainder of the week. This is the ‘most wonderful time of the year’ weather wise, for folks working outside.

I highly recommend the latest Nicholas Sparks book, SEE ME.

Another great month and week for BladenOnline.  The continued growth and support amazes me.  Bladen’s Best Source of local news, sports and so much more.  A very good job by all who labor to provide at no cost for subscription.

Do not argue with an idiot.  They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.
