Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter died yesterday at their home in Plains, Georgia. Both she and the former president Jimmy Carter were in hospice care, both in their mid to late 90s. They had been married 77 years.

I understand Ralph Emery, longtime associate of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and a DJ in the area, died a few years ago … We (my bride and I) still enjoy his Sunday Night talk show. Last night’s guest was Ray Stevens … a great entertainer and a favorite.
