thoughts while shavingRain has been scarce over the past few weeks, but yesterday and last night … totals began to rise, and all is needed … Another inch was recorded at the weather station at the local airport … between 4 p.m and midnight … last night.

Showers and possibly thunderstorms are in the forecast before noontime today … High today near 69 … Wind gusts could be as high as 17 mph … 100% chance of rain.

Tonight, a chance of showers before 1 a.m. … Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear with a low around 41. Windy, chance of rain is 30% … Then should be clear skies on Thanksgiving Day … high near 61.

Sometimes my mind wonders back to the mmmm 1940s and 50s … I began school in the early 40s … yep, an old codger … I remember riding with family thru the woods to granny’s house for a Thanksgiving feast … Then to other granny’s for an evening meal … Some of the riding was in a mule and wagon … some in a ’35 model Ford … we were blessed, and thankful … Both granny’s had homemade cookies … mmmm delicious cookies … Family has always been important, still is.

Looking ahead, there is a 30% chance of rain in the forecast for Saturday and Saturday night … otherwise, sunny to mostly cloudy thru early next week.

Losing a family member or a close friend this time of year puts a damper on our spirits … but dying does not cease regardless of the season…

Anyone else still send Christmas Cards? If yes, time to begin the process … And with our family down to just 2, we still have a Christmas tree … or will have. Do it for the young ones … and old ones … and in between…

Stock market had a good run recently … slowed a little yesterday…

While on the topic of the holidays … Lest we forget, there are those among us who no longer have family, much family and friends … and sometime we get ‘wrapped up’ in our own thoughts and forget … Look around, reach out … leave no one alone…

We are blessed with good families … some we seldom see … but think of them often. I know, kinda jumping all over the landscape … proud of our small family … all our immediate family … and friends…
