It’s Election Day 2019 for municipalities throughout the area. The day you make choices about those who will be leaders in local government. Lots of local interest in some towns, very little in others so far as early voting is concerned. 742 early voters in Elizabethtown, 124 in Bladenboro … next high is Clarkton with 23. … See our news article ‘Bladen County Board of Elections announces total votes so far in the municipal elections’. Bladenboro voters will also be making decisions about the sale of alcoholic beverages in the town.

Bladen County commissioners held a special ceremony at the county recreation park Monday to name a road in honor of Robert Mazur, a long time, recently retired employee who spent many hours working to upgrade the area. Just one of his many accomplishments.

Interesting reading recently … quoting former President Jimmy Carter, who celebrated his 95th birthday October 1 to become the oldest living former president. … He was told in 2015 his cancer had spread to his brain. “I assumed, naturally, that I was going to die quickly. I prayed about it. I didn’t ask God to let me live. I ask God to give me proper attitude toward death and I found that I was absolutely and completely at ease with death.” 95 years old and still attempting to rehab houses for folks in need.

Pray for our nation and all our leaders.

Late night football results … Cowboys 37 – Giants 18.

If you don’t vote today, don’t complain about results…

“We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.” Thomas Jefferson

“The ballot is stronger than the bullet.” Abraham Lincoln

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Martin Luther King
