Today… Showers and possibly thunderstorms this afternoon. Patchy fog before 9 a.m.  Otherwise, increasing clouds with a high near 75… Windy, gusts as high as 17 mph. Showers likely, and possibly a thunderstorm between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, during the early evening, then gradual clearing… with a low around 50… Chance of rain is 60%.

Sunny, Saturday, with a high near 71… windy, gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday (Church Day)… Sunny, with a high near 72. Cooler Monday… Sunny, high near 66.

Homecoming at many churches in the area… this time of year…

Bladenboro BeastFest next weekend… Big plans… fun time for all…

Big announcement recently about job cuts at Federal Paper in Riegelwood, about 200 less jobs after the first of the year… A huge hit for Columbus, Brunswick, New Hanover, Pender and Bladen counties…
