Thoughts While Shaving

Thoughts While ShavingWOW, 757 Bladen County voters on the first day of early voting?  I understand that more and more locals are voting early.  In recent years, special interest folks have worked hard making sure those that support their candidates arrive early.

I am out of town at a convention/workshop, nothing related to politics.  Wednesday, there were small groups discussing the upcoming debate, many saying little about who they thought would do the best job, many wishing for better/different candidates.  On Thursday, following the debate, there was much less conversation.  Not sure what that means.

In my younger days, I had an opinion on just about everything and did not mine sharing it.  As I progressed through the aging process, I realize I have good friends supporting candidates across the spectrum, and the less said the better.  Friendships are important to me and who they vote for is their business, and who I vote for is my business. I know my vote counts, but never heard of a presidential election determined by a single vote.  It does happen, but nearly always  at the local level.  If we all vote, so be it.  I will vote and I hope every eligible voters does the same.

Friday night is football night and our local teams have as tough challenge as they will have this year in conference play, East Bladen at Wallace Rose Hill and Clinton at West Bladen.

I bought one of those tapes to teach you Spanish in your sleep.  During the night, the tape skipped.  Now I can only stutter in Spanish.  Steven Wright
