How ’bout our recent weather?  And more of the same for the next couple of days…

Sunny, today, with a high near 84…Partly cloudy tonight, with a low around 60.  Thursday, Mostly sunny, with a high again in the mid 80s.

A 30 to 40% chance of rain….Friday thru Saturday night….High temps in the mid 70s.

Politics at every level can get ‘ugly’…both parties are capable of strong arm tactics….Wish it were not true…Some things never change….Wonder what happens to ‘Do unto others as you would have them do to you?’  Maybe politics and politicians are exempt…..

Love spending some time with long time friends that we seldom see or hear from….

So many local events upcoming, throughout the area….

250th Anniversary for the Town of Elizabethtown, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. this Saturday at the Farmers Market…Drop in for a short time or stay all day long…Google for time and activities scheduled.

A benefit for a couple of Bladenboro area residents dealing with health issues, scheduled for Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the school.  BBQ plates on sale beginning at 4 p.m….Plates are $8 each.  Proceeds benefit Brittany Allen and Kelly Deaver..Donations welcomed….

Local Grape Festival, Saturday, October 14th…10 a.m. to 4p.m. at Lu Mil near Dublin…

Bladenboro’s 16th Annual Beast Feast set for October 27 & 28…Greet old friends and make new ones…Music, food and more…

No doubt there are other opportunities to get together and share…

Municipal elections on the ‘back burner’, slated for early November.  Not a lot of activity in our area….

High school football and other sports activities are ongoing.  Check our Sports section..John Clark has more experience than anyone local, ever…and he updates daily…

Keep watching for church homecoming events…October and November usual times…Remember when Sunday lunch  was held outside?  Few do that now….Most have nice indoor facilities…just something special about seeing and sharing a good home cooked meal with long-time friends…

And remember those who are dealing with health issues, the loss of loved ones….many in both categories…

What have I missed?

“September days have the warmth of summer in their briefer hours, but in their lengthening evenings, a prophetic breath of autumn.”   Rowland E. Robinson

“It must be September, the July sun has disappeared.”   Charmaine J. Forde.

“New adventures, new memories, new knowledge, every fall….but seeing you again was the best of them all.   B.K. Sweeting
