A quick, first look around the Hester household indicates it could have be worse.
As of Saturday, 6 AM, we recorded about 6.2 inches of rain in the Happy Valley area. The National Weather Service at the Curtis Brown Airport at Elizabethtown reported northwest winds in the low 20 MPH range overnight with the highest gust of 32 MPH at 3 AM Saturday.
Rain has subsided, winds continue, as of 6 AM this morning, in the high teens to low 20s range.
Four County EMC reported around 800 outages in the county, the latest report indicates just 13 outages and their employees are working to restore power to those Bladen County members. They have over 10,000 members in Bladen County and over 32,000 in their four county service area.
Duke Energy reported numerous outages in Whiteville and Clinton due to Hermine, but none were listed in Bladen, at last report.

All in all, not bad for the passage of a storm on a holiday weekend.
