The Three Rivers Conference athletic directors met Wednesday and completed their schedules for fall and winter sports including cross country, volleyball, boys’ and girls’ basketball, boys’ soccer and football.

East Bladen and West Bladen are members of the conference.

Cross country and volleyball will begin the 2020-2021 sports season during the week of November 16th. Cross country will have 4 meets between Nov. 16th and Dec. 9th. Play-off qualifying meets will be held on January 6th.

Each Three Rivers school will play one conference volleyball match against the other 8 TRC schools, after they open the season with non-conference matches against 3 of the TRC schools. First non-conference matches will be played on Nov. 17th, conference play starts on Nov. 24th. Final regular season games will be on Jan. 7th.

Boys’ and girls’ basketball games will start with non-conference play on Jan. 5th followed by conference play on Jan. 22nd. Each TRC member will play every conference team once in a league game after they play 5 non-conference games against other Three Rivers teams. Final regular season games will be on Feb. 19th.

Boys’ soccer will play their first games on Jan. 25th, and the regular season will continue through Mar. 12th. Each TRC boys’ soccer team will play the other 7 Three Rivers teams (Fairmont does not field a team) twice. The first match against each TRC opponent will be non-conference; the second meeting will be a conference game.

Football will play a 6-game conference schedule that will last 7 weeks. Since the TRC is a 9-member conference, each football team will not play 2 of the other Three Rivers football teams. The football openers will be on Feb. 25th and the regular season will end on April 9th.

Of course all of these schedules are dependent upon there being no change in the state of North Carolina’s COVID-19 reopening plan.
