Here are Three Things to Know for Friday, March 6:

1. The Cape Fear Teen Challenge fish fry fundraiser is scheduled today from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 1107 West Broad Street, Suite D in Elizabethtown. The event is sponsored by Liberty Tax. All proceeds go to Cape Fear Teen Challenge, which is a local women’s recovery program.

2. The first of several rabies clinics is scheduled Saturday. $7 cash only for each dog and cat. Elizabethtown Veterinary Hospital clinics at Elizabethtown Veterinary Hospital 12:30-1 p.m.; Blanks Store, East Arcadia, 1:30-2 p.m.; Bob’s Superette, Carvers Creek, 2:20-2:50 p.m.; Alfred’s Grocery, Lisbon, 3:10-3:40 p.m.; and Clarkton Town Hall, 4-4:30 p.m.

3: A Hurricane Preparedness and Recovery program is scheduled Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon at Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church, 4047 NC 242 South, Elizabethtown. Information about hurricane preparedness, hurricane recovery, overview of the storm after the storm, disaster response activities, scams and exploitation alerts, FEMA forms review and a summary of available local, state and federal resources.
