Here are Three Things to Know for Thursday, November 12:
1. The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Cape Fear River at William O. Huske Lock and Dam 3 near the Bladen/Cumberland line from Friday afternoon until further notice. Flood stage is 42 feet. The river is expected crest at 49.8 fee early Sunday morning.
2. High school sports is scheduled to return in Bladen County next week. On Monday, the East Bladen cross country team will run at Red Springs and the West Bladen cross country team will run at Luther Britt Park in Lumberton. On Tuesday, the West Bladen volleyball team will host West Columbus and the East Bladen volleyball team will host South Columbus.
3. The White Lake Fire Department is selling tickets for its annual Thanksgiving meal fundraiser.
Purchase a fried turkey, baked turkey or Boston butt for $30 and pick up the food the day before Thanksgiving at the fire department. Tickets may be purchased from any White Lake firefighter.
