Here are Three Things to Know for Saturday, November 7:
1. The Victory Bell is on the line when Duke hosts North Carolina today at Wallace Wade Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN2. UNC leads the series with a 61-41-4 record and won last season 20-17. Duke won two seasons ago in Durham 42-35. Other college football games involving in-state teams today include Tulane at East Carolina (noon) and Appalachian State at Texas State (3 p.m.)
2. Harmony Hall Community Workday is today until 4 p.m. The Elizabethtown–White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Keep Bladen Beautiful are teaming up with the Board of Harmony Hall Plantation Village to clean and repair the house and grounds located near Tar Heel.
3. The White Lake Fire Department is selling tickets for its annual Thanksgiving meal fundraiser.
Purchase a fried turkey, baked turkey or Boston butt for $30 and pick up the food the day before Thanksgiving at the fire department. Tickets may be purchased from any White Lake firefighter.
