After a short closed session Board Meeting, White Lake Mayor Goldston Womble welcomed the Town’s new Town Administrator, Sean Martin.
Mr. Martin and his wife Kazie presently reside in Shallotte. He is currently employed as the Economic Development Director for the Town of Whiteville.
According to Martin, “I have worn several hats in my current position in addition to economic development … planning and zoning and whatever else to help the town. I worked to retain the jobs we currently have in addition to growing our resources.
“I am excited about the career move. I feel like it is a good fit for me as well as Kazie. We have a lot to offer and look forward to being a part of this community.”
Mrs. Martin is currently a kindergarten teacher at Whiteville Primary School and will complete the school year.
Martin grew up in Whiteville, graduated from Appalachian State and then returned to work in his hometown. His wife is from Lexington.
Martin will begin his new position some time in March after completing some projects for the City of Whiteville.
