BURGAW – Pender defeated West Bladen 3-0 Tuesday night in Four County Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-23, 25-18 and 27-25.
“We played hard, but Pender is a solid team,” said Lady Knight Coach Gaye Davis. “Our girls played the best that we have played. I am proud of them.”
Senior Morgan Schumacher hammered in 10 kills and an ace to lead West Bladen. Sophmore Raegan Davis filled up the stat sheet with 5 kills, 5 service points, an ace, 2 blocks and a block assist.
Senior Kathryn Schultz slammed in 4 kills, a block and a block assist for the Lady Knights. Senior Laikyn Pait fired in 3 kills, 3 service points and an ace. Senior Kassidy Anderson knocked in 2 kills, 2 aces and 3 service points.
Senior Logan Autry contributed 2 aces, 2 service points and a kill for West. Senior Kaylee Stevens belted in 2 kills, and senior Jenna Dove tallied one service point.
The Lady Knights are now 2-2 in league play and 6-4 overall. West Bladen will host Clinton Thursday at 4:30.
