The Bladen County Water Rescue responded to a call from a boater stranded on the Cape Fear River on Thursday afternoon.
The boater was reported to be floating on the river between the Lock And Dam No 3 near the DuPont Fayetteville Works plant and the bridge at Tar Heel.
Bradley Kinlaw, Bladen County Emergency Management Director, said the boater is fine and was helped off the river.
