WINNABOW – The Bladen County All-Stars split their 1st 2 games in the Diamond Softball Darlings District 9 Tournament at Town Creek Park. Bladen County dropped their opener to East Columbus 19-10 Thursday night then came back Friday to edge Cape Fear 14-13. Bladen County will play again Saturday at 10 a.m.

Averie Tew scored 3 runs to lead the Bladen team. Olivia Britt scored 2 runs, and Gwen Richardson, Keatyn Norris, Rachel Earp, Caroline McLaurin and Macyn Bebout scored 1 run each.

Bladen County 14, Cape Fear 13
Rachel Earp scored the game-tying run in the bottom of the 5th inning, and Caroline McLaurin raced home with the game-winner as Bladen rallied to edge Cape Fear. Teammates Lily Dove and Salem Lennon also reached base during the winning rally.
Gwen Richardson, Earp and McLaurin scored 2 runs each to lead Bladen County. Olivia Britt, Averie Tew, Dove, Macyn Bebout, Lennon, Jaycee Hyatt, Bralynn Bebout and Allie Walters scored 1 run each for the winners.
