The White Lake Water Festival continued today with a parade at 10 am. The crowd gathered to enjoy the beautiful floats, firetrucks, clowns, cars, local school bands, and lots of candy. The streets were lined with families enjoying their weekend get-a-way and the yearly festival with live music, several vendors selling hand crafted items, and fair foods.
The White Lake Fire Department also gathered to sell BBQ and Chicken plates to raise money for their annual budget. The crowds worked their way from the parade to the festival area and continued on to purchase from the Fire Department to support the cause. Many members of other local Fire Departments supported their fellow firemen by showing up to purchase plates and share a handshake, a smile, and friendly banter.
White Lake also offered the Cruiser’s Car Show allowing the public the opportunity to peruse the many various classic cars that are owned by Bladen County residents. The Car Show attracted the crowd after the parade was complete and the cars were judged for Best of Show, Best of Class, and various other trophies were awarded.
The day was beautiful with perfect weather, a large crowd, excellent vendor products, great food and music to enjoy all day. Friday night and again on Saturday the Southern Touch Band opened the weekend. The Carolina Breakers followed pulling in a large crowd and the day was finished with the Silk Groove band. The music kept the festival lively and entertaining for all who attended.
