Here are three things to know for Tuesday, Jan. 9:

1. Bladen County Schools Virtual Learning Day: Today. Due to potential risks associated with heavy rain and wind gusts exceeding 50 mph the district will not have in-person learning. Also, all after-school activities, including athletic events, have been canceled or postponed.

2. Snakes: Saturday, 2 p.m., Jones Lake State Park, 4117 NC 242 North, Elizabethtown. Join a park ranger in exploring the various snakes in the area and other unique species found in the state. Information: 910-588-4550.
